Oracle Just Gave Your ERP a Brain: What’s New in NetSuite and Fusion ERP Right Now

Oracle isn’t just updating its ERP platforms this year, it’s rethinking how people use them. Between NetSuite and Fusion Cloud ERP, the theme is the same: less clicking, less guessing, more AI quietly doing the heavy lifting. Here’s what’s actually worth paying attention to.

NetSuite Next: Your ERP Learns to Listen

The biggest story in NetSuite’s 2026 releases isn’t one single feature, it’s NetSuite Next, a platform-wide overhaul of both design and AI. Three pieces stand out:

  • Ask Oracle — a conversational AI assistant built into NetSuite that lets users ask questions in plain language, pull reports, surface insights, and complete everyday tasks</cite> without touching a saved search.
  • AI Canvas — a scenario-planning tool for finance teams that can model situations like hiring more staff or a revenue drop, then show the impact on cash flow and margins.
  • Redwood UI — a modernized interface, currently available as a per-user option, that keeps the same data and workflows but with a cleaner look and feel.

On top of that, finance teams get real day-to-day wins a redesigned Bank Matching workspace lets users compare bank transactions and general ledger entries side by side and the latest release adds CFO Insights reports along with new Inventory Optimization and Rough-Cut Capacity Planning tools.

Fusion ERP: From Recording Data to Taking Action

Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP is heading in a similar direction, but with its own twist  actual AI agents working inside finance processes.

The 26B update introduced AI-powered agents directly into core finance workflows, including a Ledger Agent that helps finance teams monitor balances and analyze transactions using natural language, and a Payables Agent that supports invoice ingestion, validation, and matching across email, PDFs, and EDI sources. Beyond finance, the same release brought new agentic apps to supply chain and manufacturing, including a Design-to-Source Workspace and a Sourcing Command Center.

The next release kept the momentum going. Oracle’s 26C update expanded AI further into project and program management, with a new Program Performance Advisor that helps managers spot at-risk projects and analyze performance trends. Oracle describes the shift plainly: ERP is moving from a system that just records what happened to a system that actually takes action.

Why This Matters for Your Business

Strip away the feature names, and the pattern is simple. Oracle isn’t asking businesses to learn a new system — it’s making the system smarter at the tasks people already do: reconciling accounts, chasing invoices, planning inventory, tracking projects.
